Summer is here and it’s time to hit the water! Swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding are just a few of the activities that I am looking forward to this season. My family has recently been introduced to the sport of fishing and we have been researching local ponds, beaches, and rivers to find the best fishing spots in the state. I recently learned about Lake Chauncy in Westborough and this hidden gem looks like a great place to spend a day on the water.
Scenic Lake Chauncy is an 182-acre-long natural pond located near Route 9. Many people come here to swim or walk, but it is also a fantastic place to fish.
You can cast from the shore or drop a line from your boat. Excellent fishing can be found from both the north and south shores of the lake. A launch for small boats is situated on the northeast side.
If you love fishing or hunting in Massachusetts, you'll love the new camo collection from our friends at Wear Your Roots and Realtree. These cozy t-shirts and sweatshirts are the perfect complement to life outdoors – and we always love having a hoodie with us for those chilly mornings and evenings spent waiting for the fish to bite. Have you fished at Lake Chauncy? What are your other favorite fishing holes? More information about Lake Chauncy is available at the Westborough Recreation website. If you are looking for more great spots to fish, be sure to visit Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester and Felton Lake at the October Mountain State Forest near Tanglewood.
