She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). During the winter, some people like to really indulge in the cold weather and head out skiing, snow tubing, or find other outdoor, snow-filled activities to engage in. If you’re a fan of the cold, that’s great, and there are plenty of fun things to do in Kansas in winter where you can enjoy the outside. If you’re someone that prefers to be indoors when it’s cold, don’t worry! We’ve got just as many great winter attractions in the Sunflower State that don’t involve freezing in the snow! One of our favorite winter towns in Kansas is Coffeyville. You’ll find plenty of indoor destinations here. Check out a few of our favorites:
Coffeyville is a small city of about 8,000 people tucked away in quiet southeastern Kansas. It's not too far from the Oklahoma border.
The Brown Mansion was constructed in 1906 and is a great example of a well-preserved old home. Tours are offered all year, and you can enjoy candlelit evening tours in the winter, but you'll need to reserve your spot early, as they're quite popular!
This fascinating Coffeyville, KS museum memorializes a Wild West showdown between the infamous Dalton Gang and the two neighboring banks they attempted to rob.
Surprisingly enough, this small city has yet another museum to offer visitors!
