Some people enjoy camping, others enjoy a more luxurious experience in a hotel. With "glamping," you get a little bit of both. Glamping combines the best of both worlds, placing furnished tents with all the amenities of hotels out in the middle of nature. And Washington just happens to have some amazing spots to try out this trend.
1. Pampered Wilderness, Olympia area
Explore the beautiful Millersylvania State Park, then retreat to your cozy cabin, grill a meal and fall asleep in your king or queen-sized bed. In the morning, enjoy a freshly brewed pot of coffee before heading out on another outdoor adventure.
2. Cave B Winery & Resort, Quincy
At the beautiful Cave B, you’ll have your choice of accommodations… but if you want to go glamping, you’ll rent a Desert Yurt. Each yurt has a king-sized bed, bathroom, sofa, mini fridge and coffee maker.
3. Leanto, Orcas Island
Moran State Park is beautiful, and Leanto allows you to experience it up close and personal. This is a true "glamping" experience… there are real beds, linens and other amenities, but there are no flush toilets or electricity inside the tents (you’ll find both things nearby).
4. Lakedale Resort, Friday Harbor
Lakedale’s glampground is open from May 1 to September 13. Their 16 glampsites offer front porches for relaxing, fire pits, beds and sleeper sofas. There is no electricity or running water inside, but you’re only a short walk from a shower.

5. Sweetlife Tipi, Bainbridge Island
The 10 acre Sweetlife Farm is a relaxing respite located just a few minutes from the ferry terminal. For $195, you can stay in an authentic 2 foot Tipi on the property with a queen-sized bed, rocking chairs, an outlet to keep your phone charged, and an open-air bath hut.
6. Bull Hill Guest Ranch, Kettle Falls
At the Bull Hill Guest Ranch, guests can stay in one of two Safari Tents. They have covered porches with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, river and mountains. They each contain two queen-sized beds and can easily accommodate four people.
7. Paca Pride Guest Ranch, Snohomish County
"Rustic comfort" is the theme of this peaceful ranch outside Granite Falls. Stay in one of their rustic yurts for a true glamping experience. As a bonus, you’ll be able to get close to some sweet alpacas.
