Are you either reaching or at retirement age and looking to find a place that is safe, affordable, and offers plenty of things to do? If so, let us be the first to welcome you to the Mount Rushmore State, which was just named one of the best places to retire in the country:
According to WalletHub's Best and Worst Places to Retire, both Sioux Falls and Rapid City (pictured) are a no-brainer, citing their "cost of living to retired taxpayer-friendliness to availability of recreational activities."
As per WalletHub, the report was the result of a specific methodology, which compared the "retirement-friendliness of 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across four key dimensions: 1) Affordability, 2) Activities, 3) Quality of Life and 4) Health Care," putting the pictured Sioux Falls at #13 and Rapid City at #19.
In addition to each scoring in the Top 20, Sioux Falls also received a glowing review for being one of the Highest Percentage of Employed Population Aged 65 and Over!
Do you need another reason to love both Sioux Falls and Rapid City? You will never run out of things to see and do in either town, with the former offering ample shopping, dining, and outdoor recreation and the latter showcasing world-class monuments and museums.
