Did you know South Carolina is the second largest peach producer in the country (behind California)? It's true. And while our neighboring friends in Georgia lay claim to the moniker of the Peach State, peaches are the very essence of South Carolina. So it stands to reason we'd have a peach festival (or four) each and every year to celebrate the sweet goodness of not only the harvest season but also the beautiful period when the peach trees all over the state paint the landscape with bright blooms.
If you've never celebrated the peach, then get ready, South Carolina. You'll have at least four chances to do so in the coming months with a variety of peach festivals taking place in towns all over the state where peaches and peach growing are a way of life. Pick your favorite, or attend them all. Here's what you need to know about each:
1. Peach Blossom Festival - Johnston, May 2, 2020

Johnston's Peach Blossom Festival embodies the full spirit found in this small town of approximately 2,500 residents. The fun starts at 9 a.m. and lasts all day, ending at 4 p.m. Learn more about the Peach Blossom Festival
