Great schools are an important factor for many parents when determining the best places to live in the state. Oklahoma has many top ranking schools that offer superior public education. Some are in large cities, while others are in small town, but either way they ranked top in the state. We based our rankings on the website SchoolDigger's "Best 10 Schools" for the state of Oklahoma. Each school is ranked by calculating an Average Standard Score across grades. The school with the highest Average Standard Score is ranked #1. The test scores in the rankings include: Reading, Math and Science. Here are the cities, school districts and schools within that district that ranked in the top 10:
1. Oklahoma City:Moore School District (Wayland Bond Elementary)
Ranked #1 in the state, Wayland Bond had an Average Standard Score of 94.35. The school had 560 students with a student/teacher ratio of 18.6.
2. Tulsa:Jenks School District (Jenks Southeast Elementary)
Jenks Southeast ranked 2nd in the state with an Average Standard Score of 93.96. The school had 717 students, the largest on the list, with a student/teacher ratio of 19.0.
3. Oklahoma City:Midwest City-DelCity School District (Schwartz Elementary School)
With 303 students, Schwartz Elementary ranks 3rd in the state with a Average Standard Score of 93.46. The school is Pre-K-5th grade and has a student/teacher ratio of 18.3
4. Tulsa: Tulsa School District (Eisenhower International School)
Eisenhower International is a language immersion program school ranking 4th in the state with an Average Standard Score of 92.96. The student/teacher ratio is 18.8 with 348 students in the school.
5. Altus: Altus School District (Rivers Elementary School)
Ranking 5th in the state is Rivers Elementary in Altus, OK. The Average Standard Score was close to Eisenhower, at 92.59. The school has 353 students with a 15.1 student/teacher ratio.
6. Mountain View: Mountain View-Gotebo School District (Mountain View-Gotebo Elementary School)
As the smallest school on the list, Mountain View-Gotebo Elementary ranks 6th in the state. The size of the school was only 171 with a student/teacher ratio of 11.3. The Average Standard Score was 92.40.
7. Tulsa: Union School District (Darnaby Elementary School)
Darnaby Elementary, part of the Union School District, comes in 7th place in the rankings. With 533 students, Darnaby had a student/teacher ratio of 16.9 and an Average Standard Score of 91.33.
8. Edmond: Edmond School District (Clegern Elementary School)
Clegern Elementary ranked 8th in Average Standard Score at 91.32. The school ranges from Pre-K-5th grade with 387 students and a student/teacher ratio of 22.2, the highest on the list.
9. Kingfisher: Kingfisher School District (Gilmour Elementary School)
Kingfisher is proud of Gilmour Elementary ranking 9th for Top 10 Elementary Schools. They have 558 students and a student/teacher ratio of 19.2. The Average Standard Score at Gilmour was 91.02.
10. Edmond: Edmond School District (Russell Dougherty Elementary School)
Russell Dougherty Elementary is part of the Edmond School District and ranks 10th on the list. The Average Standard Score was 90.74 and a student/teacher ratio of 19.7. The Pre-K-5th grade student body was 288 students.
