We all have our favorite restaurant, the one we go to when we want to be guaranteed a delicious meal and a relaxing experience. For many Missourians and even some Alabamans, that go-to spot has been Lambert's Cafe in Missouri (and Alabama), known for its throwed rolls and delightfully delicious meals, served in generous helpings.
Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston has been dishing up taste-tantalizing meals to Missourians since it first opened in 1942. Eventually, the popular restaurant would expand to Ozark, Missouri and Foley, Alabama.
Even if you've never been to the cozy, family-friendly restaurant, you likely already know that it's the home of the famous "throwed rolls."
Yep, in normal times, your server will toss those scrumptious rolls right to you. (During current conditions, however, rolls will temporarily be handed to guests.)
Rolls are just the delicious beginning. Take a peek at the menu that features such classics as country fried steak, meatloaf, and the hot beef sandwich.
If you like classic meals served in hearty portions, you're going to love your choices that also include golden fried chicken, chicken pot pie, and pork chops.
More in the mood for seafood? Try the shrimp dinner, the fried catfish, or the frog legs. Pair your main dish with such tasty sides as homemade mashed potatoes and pineapple walnut salad.
Don't worry about craving Lambert's rolls, apple butter, and cinnamon rolls. Just order some to go after having a serving of banana pudding for dessert.
