There are lots of seafood restaurants in Mississippi. But not many offer a fare as varied as Jourdan River Steamer. The small town restaurant boasts a BIG menu. From Maine lobster to freshly shucked Gulf oysters, the vast menu includes just about every type of seafood you can imagine. Take a look:
Deemed the Gulf Coast's destination for fresh seafood, Jourdan River Steamer is tucked away in the small town of Kiln.
Several years after opening in 2003, the riverside restaurant was forced to close due to extensive storm damage. Down but not out, the eatery was rebuilt and reopened in 2018.
Back and better than ever, Jourdan River Steamer has quickly grown into a Gulf Coast favorite.
Its popularity isn’t too surprising when you glance over the menu, which is brimming with quality seafood.
Serving up only the freshest of the fresh, even the toughest critics are bound to be pleased.
Live Maine lobster, which is pulled straight from the tank for cooking, massive king crabs, royal red shrimp from the Gulf, and Dungeness snow crabs are just a few of the under-the-sea favorites you’ll find on the menu.
An array of fresh fish and Gulf oysters are also part of the savory seafood fare.
Can’t decide what to order? No problem; simply order one of the eatery’s platters or combination dishes, which come with a variety of seafood.
Keep in mind, Jourdan River Steamer is a popular spot, so a wait is likely, especially on the weekend.
Should you have to wait, don’t worry. Jourdan River Steamer has a full bar, so you can treat yourself to a few pre-dinner cocktails.
Or, you could head down to the restaurant’s lower level and play a few games while you wait.
Jourdan River Steamer is open Wednesday – Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m., Fridays, from 4:30 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturdays, from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., and Sundays, from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. For more information, call (228) 255-7333. You can also visit the Jourdan River Steamer website or Facebook page.
