Whether you're considering a move or are just curious about the safest places in Michigan, this list has you covered. Based on research done by the FBI, check out 10 of the safest cities in Michigan.

10) Rochester

Only eight of the 141 crimes reported here in 2012 were violent.

9) West Bloomfield Township

This place is rather large in terms of population, with more than 65,000 residents. But the chances you'll fall victim to crime are one in 90. Not bad at all.

7) Bloomfield Township

Yes, this place is quite exclusive as it's one of the most expensive suburbs in the country, but you get what you pay for. There were a total of 474 crimes reported here in 2012, but considering the township's population of just over 41,000, that's not half bad.

6) New Baltimore

This nautically-themed community should never be confused with its shared namesake in Maryland. Why? Because it's just so safe and peaceful with only 66 crimes that occurred here in 2012.

5) Berkley

This Oakland County community is safe and sound, with only 141 crimes reported here in 2012.

4) Village of Milford

With only 159 crimes to have occurred here in 2012, you'll feel secure.

3) South Lyon

There's only one in 95 chance you'll be the victim of any crime here, and those are pretty good odds when considering the safest places in Michigan.

This hamlet's got a super low violent crime record - only 10 were reported in 2012.

Michigan's larger cities and tiny towns all have something to offer, but if you're looking for safest places in Michigan, refer to this list. We know a thing or two about relaxing in the Great Lake State. Whether you’re enjoying a beach day, going for a hike in our beautiful forests, or just sipping on some Bell’s beer, Michiganders know how to unwind. Big cities are sometimes very busy and can be stressful regardless of the state, though. Sometimes you might think about moving somewhere more low-key or even just taking a nice trip to get away from it all! If you’re looking to move or travel to a place where you can take a load off, consider living in the relaxing city of Lansing. It's one of the most peaceful places to live in Michigan.

Plenty of people will agree that the nice town of Lansing, Michigan is one of the most relaxing places to live in the United States. Lansing is the Michigan state capital with a population of 112,000 residents.
