Delawareans are particular people. We know what we like, we know how we want to live our lives. We also take part in quite a few strange Delaware traditions - like oohing and aahing when we see a three digit license plate. That's not weird, right?
Here are a few of the strangest habits we've picked up.
1. We pay attention to license plates.
We'll notice the black plates and the low number plates. Other states have no idea what they're missing.
2. We love the beaches - but we wait until after Labor Day.
Everyone else's summer ends in September, but ours is just beginning. Local summer is our favorite time to visit our world-famous beaches.
3. We put vinegar on fries.
SO much better than ketchup! If you don't believe me, try it for yourself the next time you get yourself a giant bucket of Thrashers.
4. We pair Dogfish Head with everything.
It doesn't matter what you're eating, Delaware's most famous brewery has a beer that pairs perfectly. Every bbq, banquet and party in the First State features a decent Dogfish Head lineup, for sure.
5. We make the best dumplings - but they're flat.
This one's not that strange to me. In fact, it's stranger to see round dumplings. Why don't you just drop a roll into your soup? Flat dumplings make it all so much better.
6. We'll stop at a farm stand, even if we're in a rush.
"Just a second - this farmer puts out long hots sometimes, I need to see if they're up yet!"
7. Only Delawareans know how to pronounce our town names.
NewARK, Herintin, Clayt'n, Lewis. Any questions?
8. We get up before dawn... on vacation.
There is NO sunrise quite like a Delaware beach sunrise, and when we are on holiday, we try to see at least one gorgeous scene.

9. We stop in the middle of the street to have a conversation.
Particularly in our small towns! We live in tight-knit communities, and it's not usual to catch up with someone that you nearly passed on the street.
10. Ice cream comes after every meal.
There are so many amazing ice cream places in Delaware that it would be a sin not to grab a cone for dessert.
11. We will always root for YoUDee!
The lovable University of Delaware mascot makes appearances regularly, and Delawareans will always cheer him on!
Delawareans are such particular people, but we really do get along with most everyone. We'll teach you to put vinegar on your fries and we'll remind you to set an alarm for your beach sunrise. Though, for as easygoing as we can be sometimes, there are still just a few things that You’ll Never Catch Anyone From Delaware Doing.
