Summersville lake is West Virginia's largest, covering more than 26,000 acres. With 60 miles of shoreline to explore, you'll find plenty to see and do here.
In addition to the tree-lined banks, Summersville Lake has some stunning sandstone cliffs.
These unique rock formations provide even more natural beauty to a place that's already brimming with pretty scenery.
The water here is clean and clear.
Battle Run Beach has plenty of sandy shoreline for swimming, playing and relaxing.
You might see climbers scaling the sheer, rock walls.
If you're super brave, you can even jump from some of the cliffs.
Or perhaps find a jumping off spot that's not quite as high.
Try your luck at fishing. The lake is stocked with large and small-mouth bass, walleye, trout and catfish.
Visit the 104-foot-tall lighthouse, where you can climb the 122 steps to the top. You'll witness some amazing 360-degree views!
