If you grew up in the 1980s or earlier, you probably remember eagerly awaiting the newest album from your favorite band, then buying the record, unwrapping it, and gently placing it on the turntable to hear those first few sweet notes. While you may have graduated to cassette tapes, then CDs, and now music downloads, vinyl is back in vogue, and you can go right back to your teen years when you visit Randy’s Records – a shop devoted entirely to both new and vintage vinyl.
If you grew up in Salt Lake City in the 1970s or 80s, you may have spent entire afternoons pawing through the bins at Randy's Records.
Vinyl is back in vogue, and whether you've kept your old collection, are rebuilding a new one, or are buying vinyl for the first time ever, you'll want to visit this vintage shop. It's located at 157 E. 900 S., Salt Lake City, UT 84111.
Randy was always an audiophile, and started collecting records as a kid.
He first dreamed of owning a record store while he was serving in Vietnam, and by 1970, he owned more than 30,000 45s and hundreds of LPS. He opened Randy's Records in 1978 with a stock of 60,000 45s.

You'll often find Randy in the store today, still doing the thing he loves best - helping people find and enjoy music they love.
You'll find everything from vintage Led Zepplin to Barry Manilow, and everything in between. There's an entire small room dedicated to jazz and blues, too. And, with current artists releasing brand new albums on vinyl, you'll find tons of current music in the bins.
You can also find vintage 45s, cassette tapes, and CDs for sale.
The sale is held a space across the street behind Huddart Floral Shop, and you'll find more than 10,000 LPs for just $2 each! The sale also includes DVDs for $1, and 45s, cassettes, and VHS tapes for just 50 cents.
If you don't have your old turntable, or you're just now getting into vinyl, Randy's can help set you up with a basic sound system.
The store carried Audio Technica turntables, and also occasionally gets vintage ones as well.
