2. Solvang
Although Solvang could easily be a day trip, this destination is a bit more distant for most Southern Californians so you might want to plan an entire weekend of fun in this charming Danish village. You'll love the whimsical setting, tons of shopping, and even a magical trolley ride through town that's right out of a storybook.

If you love the idea of a family-friendly getaway right on the water, then you're going to love Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve. 7. De Portola Wine Trail -- Temecula Valley
When you think of wine country, Temecula may not first come to mind but you'd be depriving yourself if it didn't. Located in Temecula Valley, the DePortola Wine Trail is the perfect way to experience multiple wineries where you can sip and sample wine while taking in the beauty of this pocket of SoCal.
8. A Waterfall Road Trip -- Throughout SoCal
If you love road trips, then you're going to love this weekend getaway that features a road trip AND a bunch of waterfalls. SoCal may not be known for its year-round waterfalls, but during this time of year when we've had a bit of rain, you'll be delighted by the beauty of the waterfalls along this road trip getaway.
