As the weather begins to warm up here in Pennsylvania, we have lots of ways to beat the heat. From spectacular waterparks to natural swimming holes, there are a lot of ways to cool off here in the Keystone State, but river tubing in Pennsylvania just might be our favorite. Keep cool all summer long when you embark on a memorable river tubing expedition at Coal Tubin' in Pennsylvania:
Spend a relaxing day meandering down Stonycreek River, a natural lazy river that promises to keep you cool despite the hot summer sun.
Rent a cozy inner tube from Coal Tubin' - your driver's license and car keys will serve as the deposit - and await your shuttle ride to the lazy river.
Slip on your sunglasses or buy a stylish pair from Coal Tubin', a family-friendly adventure company that welcomes adventurers five years and older.
If you cannot swim, you must wear a life jacket. Children 12 and under are also required to wear a life jacket. Life jackets are available for rent, if you opt not to bring your own.
Grab your inner tube and head down to the river, where you'll slip your tube into the water.
Remain in your tube at all times when in the water as Coal Tubin' does not have lifeguards. You must also sign a waiver before your adventure begins.
How long each tubing run takes depends on the water levels. Longer runs - which require a water level above three feet - generally take three hours while the shorter run, when the water is under three feet, lasts about 90 minutes.
