The other day, I heard a friend say, "cuffing season is near." While I laughed, I couldn't help but think...this is true. It is nice to have a special someone to go to pumpkin patches with, coordinate matching Halloween costumes, and keep you warm on cool nights. Now that I think about it, fall is a really cute season to have a boyfriend.
Aside...North Carolina is pretty diverse when it comes to L-O-V-E. But Cupid is guaranteed to find you in these seven cities.
1. Raleigh
Raleigh is the captiol city and centrally located. As part of the Research Triangle, tons of young professionals flock here each year for their first jobs or a promotion. With an almost even male to female ratio, even Forbes Magazine has Raleigh listed as a great place to find a date.
2. Charlotte
Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina and also has a large percentage of young professionals, age 23-30, who call the Queen City home. While there is BIG debate over just how dateable Charlotte is, your chances are pretty good. Stick to neighborhood bars and not Uptown or night clubs if you really are seeking someone genuine.
3. Carrboro
Carrboro is Chapel Hill's cooler, more eco-friendly neighbor. While Chapel Hill is extensively college-town, Carrboro thrives on its own kind of cool. If you find yourself in graduate school, or taking a first job in the area, Carrboro is the place to go to meet unique and mature singles.
4. Winston-Salem
With universities like Wake Forest, Winston-Salem State, Salem College, and UNC School of the Arts, Winston-Salem is a diverse mix of young singles. Find your artistic muse at bars on Trade St. or hang out on 4th Street where you'll come into contact with a diverse mix of both locals and students. On the rise as a 'cool' city in North Carolina, this is a great time for being single in Winston.
5. Durham
Another 'cool' city on the rise is Durham. With a downtown makeover, Durham is now coming on the scene as a premier destination for great restaurants, fun nightlife, and an eclectic music scene. You're sure to meet plenty of singles here who work and play in the Research Triangle.
6. Asheville
Nestled in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful scenery, Asheville is a pretty romantic place to fall in love. With a large percentage of young singles, and college students, in the area...you're sure to meet some interesting individuals here. With romantic restaurants, unique bars, and plenty of breweries...meeting your fellow free spirit just takes a tiny bit of effort in Asheville.
7. Wilmington
Two words: surfer guys(and gals of course). If you're looking for a partner to shred some waves with, look no further than Wilmington. From college students, to laid back beach bums who prefer seaside living, Wilmington is perfect for the relaxed dater just goin' with the flow.
