Last summer, we brought you a list of 11 incredible Kansas burger joints that make our mouths water and taste buds explode. Lucky for us Kansans, those 11 were only the tip of the iceberg. In fact, the Sunflower State is home to several more delicious places to grab some beef, including:
1. Smitty's Carry Out (Kingman)
What's better than a made-from-scratch Smitty's burger? A made-from-scratch burger with hand-cut fries and/or onion rings!
2. Bomber Burger (Wichita)
If the sight of this masterpiece doesn't cause you to salivate, your friends at Only in Your State recommend getting your eyes checked.
3. R-B Drive In (Hutchinson)
What the building lacks in pizzazz it makes up for with some mighty tasty burgers and rings... it's worth the trip to Hutch. (Trust me!)
4. Kate's Bar and Grill (Dodge City)
"Get the heck into Dodge" and try one of Kate's famous burgers! (We recommend the Wednesday special--a Bacon Swiss Mushroom Burger, pictured.)
5. Burger Station (Winfield)
Whether you eat it in the restaurant or on-the-go, you're guaranteed a savory experience that you won't soon forget.
6. Toot's Drive-In (Howard)
A good rule of thumb: If a restaurant's sign seems old and dated, it most likely means they've been in business forever and have some of the best food you'll ever try. This is definitely the case with Toot's Drive-In and they're beautiful burgers!
7. J's Carryout (Emporia)
Let's just say there's a reason the Emporia State students LOVE J's burgers and fries...
8. Fritz's Railroad Restaurant (Kansas City)
All aboard the Fritz's train for the best burger in all of KCK! (Pictured is Fritz's Favorite with two juicy patties. #OMGSOGOOD)
9. B Hive (Colby)
ATTENTION WESTERN KANSAS: Let's make plans to meet at this Colby hot spot, which is home to the best burgers and sides this side of the state.
10. King's Sandwich Shop (Iola)
Want to hear a true story? When I was pregnant, I used to dream about King's burgers and fried pickle chips. Now that I'm not pregnant, I still dream about them...
11. Homer's Drive Inn (Leavenworth)
Since 1931, Homer's has been serving up heavenly, reasonably priced burgers in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Stop in to see what all the talk is about!
12. Cozy Tavern & Grill (La Crosse)
Don't tell me that a sloppy joe isn't considered a burger; it's still freshly ground, perfectly seasoned beef served with fries! However, if you prefer a traditional patty, Cozy has those too!
