There’s nothing that quite beats finding the perfect location away from the modern world to enjoy a quiet moment or a meal. Under most circumstances, that requires backpacking with your food but sometimes you can find a restaurant from where you can enjoy the view.
Today, we’re going to take a look at one secluded restaurant that is a true gem; not only does it require a long, scenic drive to access but it also has some amazing food.
That location is Cliff Dwellers Restaurant, one of the few restaurants you will find in the remote Arizona Strip and is part of a 60-year-old lodge for local travelers.
The restaurant and lodge sit along the base of Vermilion Cliffs and is located a short drive away from Marble Canyon. The city of Page is almost an hour's drive away via Highways 89 and 89A.
It's worth mentioning that Cliff Dwellers was named one of the best restaurants in the state in 2013 by Arizona Highways, one of ten selected that year. The writer mentioned being "shocked by the sophistication of the food," so you know this isn't just going to be a random spot to grab a burger and fries.
The restaurant serves hearty, delicious meals, perfect fuel for before or after your hiking or rafting adventures.
Due to the remote location, the restaurant grows some of its own produce so you know the ingredients are fresh and healthy.
You have the option to sit indoors or out. We suggest sitting on the patio to enjoy every moment of the beautiful scenery.
They serve breakfast and lunch to get your day started on the right foot.
Plus some scrumptious dinners served with an elegance that may surprise you., like this seared ahi plate.
And delicious vegetable-based pies that might just rival Grandma's.
Pictured above is a zucchini pie cooling on the patio. You need to give their avocado pie a try as well.
Cliff Dwellers Restaurant is located along Highway 89A near Marble Canyon, just off of Mile Post 547. The hours fluctuate based on the season but the restaurant is currently open daily from 6am to 9pm for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additional information can be found on their website or Facebook page.
